MARAPATAGONIA is an adventure tourism company that is based in Chilean Patagonia more specifically in the Magallanes Region. The centre of our operations is in Puerto Natales, the gateway city to Torres del Paine. We are proud to call Puerto Natales and this region our home. Marapatagonia is a family run business and is attended to directly by the owners. Our family has strong roots and more than 95 years of history in the Magallanes Region – our experiences being passed along from generation to generation. This history gives us a unique advantage and knowledge of this area called Patagonia, The End of The World. We are proud to share our knowledge through a diverse range of adventure excursions in Torres del Paine National Park and in the region around Puerto Natales including the greater area we call the island of Tierra del Fuego. Our excursions are centred around hiking, horseback riding and flyfishing and last from 1 to 15 days. Custom excursions are also available depending on the personal schedule and desires of you, our client.

PHILOSOPHY: Through our excursions we look to share the culture and traditions of the Patagonian People with our guests.  We build the gateway to experience the pure gifts of Patagonia. We emphasize the process of learning as a way to strengthen our experiences with the natural environment. Marapatagonia is a supporter of the Leave No Trace philosophy and during our excursions we will minimize the use of fossil fuels and emphasize the use of recyclable and biodegradable materials.

Rodrigo Restovich Castro

Born and raised in Puerto Natales, from a young age Rodrigo demonstrated a strong interest and aptitude for outdoor activities. These interests were fostered by encouraging parents and brothers. At 15, Rodrigo began his membership in the Mountaineer Club of Puerto Natales where he began to learn the skills of rock climbing and sea kayaking. At this point, he realized that outdoor activities would continue to be a guiding force in his career and life. Rodrigo, now aged 25, has 9 years of guiding experience from a diverse range of activities. Rodrigo´s specialties are in the fields of mountain hiking and sea kayaking expeditions. Rodrigo is certified as an International Guide in sea kayaking. Rodrigo is continually expanding his skillset and is currently focusing on the area of horsemanship and training.

Fabio Restovich Castro

Born in Puerto Natales, Fabio is a flyfishing enthusiast for more than 10 years. Fabio is the principle financer of our company and plans to grow this family business. By profession, Fabio is a certified engineer and currently works full time in this field, taking time from working life to explore his passion of flyfishing. In the near future, Fabio is looking to switch this balance of work and hobby to focus full-time on the outdoors and enjoying the beauty that is Patagonia.

Mauricio Sanchéz

Born in Punta Arenas, since the age of 12, Mauricio has worked in the ranching field where he learned the scope of skills incorporated with running a ranch and working with horses. Mauricio is our horse trainer and baqueano (horseback riding guide). He is also a rodeo competitor, where he always makes the podium! Currently, Mauricio is 26 years old, and is the one who looks after the horses and ranch duties.
